Tenants Fees

We believe that tenants should know exactly what they are expected to pay before entering into an Occupation Contract or an Assured Periodic Tenancy. We are committed to providing clear and transparent information about rent, deposits and any other payments that may apply to you.

As a professional Letting and Property Management Agency operating in England and Wales MBW Lettings complies with the related legislation. We will only request a payment from a tenant where that payment is legally permitted and applicable to the individual tenancy.

The information below provides an overview of the payments you may be required to make when renting a property through MBW Lettings.

• Rent - Payable in accordance with the agreed payment terms for your property.
• Holding deposit - Equivalent of up to a maximum of one week’s rent.
• Security deposit - The amount will be confirmed before you enter your Occupation Contract/ Assured Periodic Tenancy, equivalent to a maximum of 5 weeks rent.
• Utilities and Services - Where this is your responsibility under the occupation contract.
• Permitted payment following a breach of your contract/ tenancy - For example, a legally permitted charge relating to late rent.
• Maintenance and Emergency call outs – Where the fee has occurred because of a maintenance or emergency call out caused by the contract holder/ tenant.

Any payment requested by MBW Lettings will only be requested where legally permitted, applicable to the circumstances and supported by the relevant contractual and legal requirements.

Where a payment is due, we will explain what the payment relates to and why it is being requested in writing.
